2) Translate the following into English:
१.रामो नावा नदीं तरति ।
Rama cross the river using a boat.
२.अरिणां भिया वीरा न पलायन्ते ।
Heroes do not flee/escape due to the fear of enemies.
३. पत्यः प्रीतिं लभस्व ।
May you get husband's affection/regard.
४.उद्याने सुभ्रुवो दृष्ट्वा जना अक्ष्णां फलं लभेरन् ।
Seeing the beautiful browed (girl/woman) in the garden people may get fruit of the eyes.
५.गोः क्षीरं बालेभ्यो यच्छ ।
Give cow's milk to the boys.
६. यदा तस्य पिता अम्रियत, तदा स जरसा विनापि वृद्धोऽभवत् ।
When his father died then he, even without old age, became an old man.
७. शत्रवो नृपस्य श्रियमपहर्तुमिच्छन्ति ।
Enemies wish to take away the King's prosperity.
८. अस्माकं क्रियाणां फलेषु ईश्वर एव प्रतिभूर्भविष्यति ।
Only Iswara is the guarantor of fruits of our actions.
९. ये शत्रूणां मायां न बोधन्ति ते मूढधियः पराभवं गच्छन्ति
Those that do not know (their) enemies' deceit those fools will go to ruin.
१०. सुधियः सुधीभिर्मोदन्ते कुधियश्च कुधीभिः ।
Intelligent (people) rejoice with (other) intelligent people and fools with fools.
११. यदाग्निर्वनानि दहति तदानिलस्तस्य सखा भवति ।
When fire burns the forest then wind is his friend.
१२. दिवि देवा वसन्तीति मुनयो जनेभ्यः कथयन्ति ।
Devas live in heaven - thus sages tell people.
१३. यो दासः कनकं चोरयति तस्य ह्रीर्न भवति ।
That servant who steals gold he has no modesty.
ह्री (f) - modesty. Declined like धी (f. intellect)
१४. यदा देवा असुरैरयुध्यन् तदा दधीचस्य मुनेरस्थीनि तेषां शस्त्राण्यभवन् ।
When the Devas fought with the Asuras then Sage Dadhichi's bones became their weapons.
१५. वातप्रम्यो मृगा एते भुवि धावन्ति ।
These swift as wind anumals run on Earth.

3) Translate the following into Sanskrit:
1. Let a husband be his wife's friend.
पतिः तस्य पत्न्याः सखा भवतु।
2. Let a wife be her husband's friend.
पत्नी तस्य पत्युः मित्रं भवतु।
3. Lakshmi is the wife of Vishnu.
लक्षमी विषणोः पत्नी।
4. When the woman with beautiful brows saw me, she said to me: "You have beautiful brows. I long for you."
यदा सुनदरौ भ्रूवौ नारी मामपश्यत् तदा सा मामवदत् - " तव भ्रूवौ सुन्दरौ । त्वाम् स्पृहयामि।"
5. The man who has intelligence and wealth is rare on earth.
यो नरो बुद्धिमान् धनवान् च सः पृथ्व्यौ विरलः।
6. Those who do not have old age are are called Nirjara. Who are they? No one on this earth is without old age. The Nirjaras live in heaven.
येषाञ्जरा नास्ति ते निर्जराः। ते के? पृथ्व्यै न कोऽपि निर्जराः। निर्जराः स्वर्गे वसन्ति।
7. When Duhsasana dragged (कृष् 1P) her clothing in Duryodhana's assembly, Draupadi looked down with modesty and trembled with fear.
यदा दुःशासनोऽकृषत् तस्य वस्त्रं दुर्योधनस्य सभे द्रौपदी ह्रिया अधः अपश्यत् भिया अकम्पयत् च।
8."Go on bullocks, go on", said the farmer to the bullocks.
"चलन्तु गावः, चलन्तु" इति कृषो गवयवदत्।
9. With her long and big (विशाल) eyes, Sita almost (इव) drank Rama's face, when he returned from the forest to the hermitage.
यदा रामः वनात् आश्रमं प्रवृत्त तदा सीता तस्य विशालेन दीर्घेन अक्षिभ्याम् रामस्य मुखम् अपिबत् इव ।
10. Parvati said to the girl who stood near her, "O friend, look at this boy."
यस्याः स्त्री तस्य समिपे अतिष्ठत् पार्वति सा अवदत् - "सखी एतं बालम् पश्यतु ।"
